Gaining ahead, I risked life and limb standing on a narrow overpass with a blind curve on a busy road. But the shot was worth it, and I didn't have long to wait as the U Boats were right on my heels. I don't need to say how great these guys sounded coming up grade through the valley.
Not only would the sound been orgasmic, but just to see some u-boats still running would be completely awesome.
NJ Transit used to run about 30 something U34CHs from the Erie Lackawanna and it was so cool when those bad-ass locomotives would go chugging by at 70MPH.

i wish i could photograph some u boats, but every railroad near me retired them a year before i got into photography well i guess a super dash 7 would count since they were a u boat.

"Oh, brilliant! So you're saying that the best thing about your four-seater cabriolet is that you can only fit two people in it? God, you do talk some rubbish sometimes!" -Richard Hammond, Top Gear.
OH MAN, reminds me of chasing the LS&I's ex-BN U-Boats in the UP of Michigan last summer. I dunno what was better: listening to them comming up the hill from the docks with 100+ empties, or listening to them idle at Eagle Mills Jct while a trio of WC SD45s throttled up out that rock cut... I miss the LS&I, I need to get back there in the next year or two.

I have a Pentrex tape called "U Boat Survivors" that feature TTI and LS&I, including some cool old footage of their U25C and U28C's in the neat red and green schemes.
